While in the midst of playing Maria in the acclaimed Broadway international tour of The Sound of Music, Charlotte Maltby discovered that her passion for teaching children was more than the story she was telling onstage. She started studying education and continues her story as a beloved elementary school teacher in addition to her illustrious performance career. In her show, “My Favorite Things,” she takes the audience on a heartfelt musical journey through the passions that drive us and the true meaning of following your dreams.

Charlotte Maltby is renowned for Playing Maria Von Trapp in the Broadway National Tour of THE SOUND OF MUSIC, directed by three time Tony Winner, Jack O’Brien. She has also played iconic theater roles such as Fantine in LES MISERABLES, Penny Pingleton in HAIRSPRAY, Martha in THE SECRET GARDEN, and originated roles in upcoming Broadway musicals Kate Carter in LIFE AFTER and Julia Melville in the musical adaptation of Richard B. Sheridan’s THE RIVALS. Highlights from Charlotte’s illustrious film career includes Ithaca, directed by Meg Ryan, The Last Five Years, directed by Richard Lagravenese, and NBC’s Aquarius, directed by David Duchovny. Charlotte has traveled the world as a star vocalist and performed with Houston Symphony, the Omaha Symphony Orchestra, and the New York Philharmonic.
