Charity Angél Dawson is one of the most sought after actresses on Broadway today, celebrated for her powerhouse vocals and commanding presence. She made her Broadway debut in Side Show and rose to acclaim in Waitress, first joining the company as Nurse Norma and understudy for Becky before stepping into the role of Becky on Broadway in a performance that was preserved when the production was filmed and Charity starred alongside the show's Grammy-winning composer Sara Bareilles. Dawson went on to star as Wanda Sellner in Mrs. Doubtfire on Broadway, followed by a celebrated run as Mama Morton in Broadway's Chicago.
